Pope Francis: How to Address Immigration

On this Labor Day weekend, we are mindful of the value of work and workers in our country, and we hold in prayer all who have lost their jobs and are seeking employment. We might also pray for those who have lost almost everything and been compelled to leave their homelands in search of work and safety.

In the 3-minute, Catholic News Services video below, Pope Francis affirms that the major causes of immigration—war and climate change—can be addressed so that people can remain in their own countries.  As he says, “The relationship between hunger and migration can be addressed, but only if we go the root of the problem.”
