Hello St. James,
Left off leaving Rionegro. Saturday the 9th. Short walk today, putting Mombuey and the next town together was too far for me (26k). Mombuey was a larger town, most of the services on the main road, but when you went into the old village part, there was the Church and the municipal Albergue. Just down the path was a bar, and she was open a good part the day (everything is closed from 2-5 pm, everything). The Albergue was small but good, thought I might be alone, but no. Two Spanish men and a man and woman from Italy (father-daughter I think). I got a tour of the Church twice (I went back with the other Pilgrims later). Beautiful Church.
I'm never really sure about when dinner is, what opens when, I walked around awhile, a food shop up the road, walking back I noticed the Bar was open. She had signs everywhere about the few sandwiches (Bocadilla), like 3. So I start to ask for the pork one, and she holds up a sizzling fry pan with 2 salmon steaks in it, and she says "you want this, with garlic and tomatoes?" Absolutely!
It's the little things. Didn't sleep great again, but good enough. 16.9 k tomorrow to Asturianos... Pictures to follow. Peace, fb
